It is one of seven sisters of the Teramo coast.
Awarded in 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2009 the European Blue Flag (prize for the cleanest sea resort), is known and also known as the Silver Beach to the beauty of its coastline; in the Blue Guide of Legambiente is marked with two sails.
On July 14, 2006 celebrated its fiftieth anniversary as an independent town (formerly part of Tortoreto).
